The Smoky Mountains and the Blue Ridge Mountains, the forests of the north and the forests of the south, all meet in Western North Carolina (WNC).  WNC is one of the most biodiverse areas on the planet.  There are many opportunities for vigorous hiking or simply sitting by a waterfall or on top of a mountain and enjoying the splendor all around you.

The beautiful national forest close by has 5000+ foot mountains. The miles of roads and trails lead to streams, waterfalls, and old growth stands of maple. hemlock, and birch.  Nature lovers will find countless varieties of rare wildflowers, unusual birds, and diverse animal habitats.  This area is ideal for driving, hiking, horseback riding, rock climbing and mountain biking.  One road gives quick access to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Mt Mitchell.

We can put you in touch with organized hikes or your own personal guide.

We have provided links to many of the resources at your fingertips when you come to visit us!

While Western North Carolina is known for its spectacular fall scenery (on our property, above) there is abundant natural beauty in all four seasons.
